Mac is VP Credit of SMFL London, where he is fully engaged in SMBC Aero Engine Lease (“SAEL”) business while he also covers aircraft and helicopter leasing. SAEL was founded in 2013 as a joint venture engine leasing company between Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation and Germany’s MTU Aero Engines. Japan’s leasing company Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing (“SMFL”) acquired SAEL by transferring Sumitomo’s share in 2019 to expand and diversify their aviation business in addition to their existing business, SMBC Aviation Capital. SAEL focuses on long term leasing / purchase and leaseback of popular narrowbody engines such as the LEAP-1A/1B, PW1100G, CFM56-5/7, V2500-A5, CF34-10 but can also handle widebody engines such as the GE90-115B and Genx-1B. Mac joined Sumitomo Corporation in 2008 and has mainly worked for the credit and investment team where he was involved in the establishment of SAEL. Mac moved to Amsterdam to work for SAEL as VP Finance and Credit in 2015 and was transferred to SMFL London in 2019 for Post-Merger Integration of SAEL.
