Profile
I am Of Counsel in our Aviation & Aerospace practice in London, I bring more than 30 years' commercial and litigious experience to a diverse array of aerospace issues.
I advise leading businesses in all parts of the aerospace sector, including investors, airlines, manufacturers, MROs, and regulators. I help clients to navigate and comply with international, European and domestic technical and economic regulation affecting the aviation sector, including the use of innovative technology, such as AI and drones.
Much of my work involves long term support contracts between equipment suppliers and MROs and their airline/financier customers. Frequently these involve innovative data-based methods of performance management and predictive maintenance. Many transfer significant cost and reliability risk to the supplier. I seek to join my understanding of aerospace equipment and its operation with practical and commercial experience gained at Rolls-Royce, where I worked for seven years before joining Bird & Bird in 2013.
I have worldwide experience in commercial, regulatory and insurance disputes in the industry. A recent example involved a customer's ability to withdraw from a long term agreement for aircraft engine overhauls.
I am a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and regularly speak at industry events on a wide range of topics, including airline passenger protection, drones and aftermarket service solutions. I have chaired a number of panels on the impact of Brexit on the sector.
